What are the job responsibilities of the Drug Safety Associate?
Case Creation
- Assess the validity of cases by spotting the minimum criteria required.
- Evaluate the history to determine if the case is new or a follow-up.
Case Handling
- Acquire knowledge of the basic principles of processing patient safety cases.
- Stay active and knowledgeable about rules and guidelines requirements for ICSR submissions.
Case Identification
- Identify the serious adverse events (SAEs) and some special scenario cases, such as lack of efficacy, exposure, pregnancy cases, product quality complaint-related cases, and other related cases.
Medical Coding
- Use standard medical dictionaries like MedDRA to code and report safety and clinical data, Patient medical history, Laboratory test results, and reported adverse events.
- Ensure consistency in medical Coding practices to ensure clarity and compliance.
Documentation Work
- Upload and attach all the important and related documents, such as source data, safety information, follow-up details, and query responses to each case file.
- Prepare clear and concise case summaries based on clinical information obtained from case files and source materials.
