Job Responsibilities for Medica Coder
- Identify the proper ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes and translate medical records appropriately.
- Maintain compliance with coding standards and regulatory requirements (AHIMA, AAPC)
- Coordinate with the healthcare professional and billing department to resolve coding-related details.
- Review healthcare professional reports, notes, and medical data to ensure precise coding.
- Observe coding activities for diverse specialties such as IP DRG, Surgery, ED Facility, E/M services, and Denials.
- Assess and update the patient data in the coding application system and ensure the timely maintenance of data in software.
- Regularly perform self-inspection to analyze the code quality to reduce the chances of errors and improve coding standards.
- Ensure the confidentiality of the patient information and comply with HIPPA and related privacy protocols.
Job Responsibilities for Senior Coder
- Responsible for suggesting and executing modifications to coding operations and documentation standards.
- Collaborate and consult with healthcare professionals (Physicians) and key stakeholders regarding coding complexities.
- Conduct a proper investigation to analyze the coding and identify the potential areas for improvement.
- Create detailed reports to investigate coding accuracy, track error trends, and optimize complete functions.
- Offer mentorship to your Juniors to help them improve coding accuracy.
Skills Required
- Data Analysis & Statistical Analysis
- Data management abilities
- Skilled in medical coding
- Expertise with HCPCS, CPT, and ICD coding systems.
- Clear Concepts of Medical Terminology, Human Anatomy & Physiology.
- Good Verbal and Oral Communication skills.
Education Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy of Life Sciences (B.Pharm / B.Sc)
- Minimum 01 years of experience is required to apply for this job.
